As the Owner and Master Stylist at Zerene Salon, my passion lies in the world of beauty, art, and enhancing people's confidence. With a specialization in Aveda haircolor, razor haircuts, and extensions, I have honed my skills through advanced beauty education classes and attending numerous hair shows that have left me inspired. Prior to my journey in the beauty industry, I immersed myself in the vibrant city of San Francisco, where I pursued my love for art at the Academy of Art, focusing on drawing and painting. Born and raised in Santa Cruz, I find endless inspiration in it’s natural beauty, embracing everything from camping and the tranquility of the woods to the vibrant colors of flowers and the delicate grace of butterflies. Above all, I cherish the love and support of my family and friends. I eagerly anticipate our appointment, as it allows me the opportunity to showcase my expertise and provide you with an unforgettable experience.

Serina has been in the hair industry since 2005. She was intrigued after seeing her mother in the same industry since a baby. Shortly after attending San Jose city college and graduating, she started an assisting program at Nimbus salon in Los Gatos. After learning and gaining knowledge and confidence, she started her solo career. Through the years, hair styling has become a passion but so has been connecting with people from many walks of life. After 10 years, she relocated to Santa Cruz and has been planted here ever since. Zerene salon is a relatively new location, but is a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for clients to get their hair done. After 20 years in this industry, connecting with people, making them feel confident and sharing invaluable conversations has been the most rewarding.

With over 10 years of experience in the hairstyling industry, I am a fifth-generation hairstylist looking to expertly blend my deep family craft with contemporary styling expertise and a refined attention to detail. My formal training includes prestigious courses taken at the Sassoon Academy in Beverly Hills as well as specialized razor-cutting classes from Pony. I specialize in color theory and excel in color corrections, with a particular passion for the art of blonding through techniques like highlighting and balayage. My skills extend to handling a wide spectrum of hair types, from enhancing curls to crafting sleek long styles and trendy pixie cuts.
